Custom Sports Guards
Many sports programs require the use of a mouth guard. The use of an over-the-counter guard can be sufficient for some. However, for many, these appliances are too big and bulky and interfere with speech and or breathing. A custom fitting guard is a huge improvement over a standard one size fits all appliance.
A well fitting mouthguard can help prevent a concussion. There are studies that show that a well fitting mouth guard can help to lessen damage to the head that occurs from the jarring effect of a collision between athletes. A well fitting mouthguard will protect teeth from fracture.
Custom guards are NOT EXPENSIVE and can actually help improve athletic performance. They are far more comfortable to wear, which means that they have a better chance of being worn consistently and not being held in the athletes hand or hanging half out of the mouth, where it will not be very beneficial.
